Grounds of Origin is a unique espresso bar located in Brisbane’s Arana Hills. We are expert craftspeople focused on bringing a specialty coffee experience to the local community. Founded and led by YouTube coffee personality Ryde Jeavons, we're famous for our coffee and exceptional roasts (yes we roast our own beans), and have quickly become an institution for coffee lovers and home baristas in Brisbane. We're looking for a Manager/Head Barista who shares our passions for people and coffee to come and lead our team. For more context - go check us out on Instagram and TikTok @groundsoforigin So what’s the job? We’re looking for an experienced specialty barista who’s quick on their feet and great with people. We are a 7 day operation so some weekend work is involved. You’ll be managing day to day operations—eg inventory management, rostering, customer service and team management—as well as making coffee on the real MVP—our Synesso MVP Hydra. Key Responsibilities Head Barista: Making coffee, serving customers and training team Daily Operations: Oversee day-to-day cafe operations Team Leadership: Develop and maintain a motivated, high-performing team Staff Management: Handle rostering, manage conflicts, and ensure proper staff coverage Customer Focus: Ensure every customer interaction exceeds expectations. Advocate for customer service excellence, product knowledge, and staff education. What We’re Looking For Strong leadership, organisation and communication skills Proven experience as a barista and in managing cafe operations A passion for coffee and customer service Ability to motivate and inspire a team while maintaining a fun and productive work environment Ability to handle multiple responsibilities and stay calm under pressure Why Join Us?
