An exciting opportunity exists for a Clinical Nurse Consultant (Surgical Clinical Reviewer) to join the Division or Surgery and Speciality Services in Cairns. We believe that we can improve health outcomes by involving our community in the planning and evaluation of their local health services.About you:You are a qualified Registered Nurse with advanced practice clinical skills in relation to the provision of quality, cost effective care, in consultation with other members of the health care team. You demonstrate sound knowledge of contemporary nursing practice and theory and participate directly or indirectly in the delivery of clinical care and possess sound knowledge and the ability to apply relevant legislation, guidelines, and standards to ensure clinical practice is evidence based to facilitate positive outcomes.Your opportunity:The Surgical Clinical Reviewer's (SCR) chief responsibility is to collect and submit reliable data to the American College of Surgeons National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (ACS NSQIP). This is accomplished through high quality data compilation, documentation, and entry into the ACS NSQIP database of all eligible surgeries for the hospital. The SCR works closely with the Clinical Director of Surgery and other stakeholders to identify opportunities for clinical quality improvement and other special projects as may be identified.Your role:Implement and monitor the organisation's quality standards, work health and safety policies, procedures and programs and provide clinical governance in the relevant work area.Practice at an advanced level in relation to the provision of quality, cost effective care, in consultation with other members of the health care team.Responsible for the collection and submission of reliable data to the American College of Surgeons Surgical Quality Improvement Program (ACS NSQIP); through high quality data compilation, documentation, and entry into the ACS NQIP database of all eligible surgeries for the hospital.Maintains a close relationship with the Nursing Director, Director of Surgery, and the Director of Anaesthetics, Division of Surgery to identify opportunities for quality improvement and other special projects as may be identified.As a Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service employee, not only will you receive competitive remuneration, you will also have access to:Salary packagingAnnual incremental increasesCareer training and developmentWellness programsVaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD)
