Through talented and skilled people using leading industry technologies EDMS Australia is undertaking engineering design manufacture and site installation of small to large scale green field and brown field industrial projects to keep industry improving and productive. Description ABOUT THE ROLE As an experienced Mechanical Engineer you will work within the engineering division with a team of mechanical electrical engineers designers and draftspersons to deliver designed and engineered solutions and products for EDMS Australias fabrication and construction division and in consultation for our Defence Marine Mining Resource and Sugar industry Clients. WHAT YOULL DO Work with EDMS Australias experienced team of engineers draftspersons manufactures and installation crew Travel to project sites to inspect assess and collect relevant design data Develop designs and engineering solutions Produce engineering calculations in accordance with Australian and industry Standards Undertake finite element analysis as a tool to verify designs using SolidWorks Undertake pipe flow and flexibility modelling and simulation Produce engineering drawings using SolidWorks AutoCad and or Inventor Provide in-house engineering design and drawing checks Provide fabrication workshop and site engineering support Skills And Experiences REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) from an Australian recognized university 10 years working as a design mechanical engineer Must be an Australian citizen and resident Good experience working in a team within an industrial manufacturing fabrication or maintenance environment 2D and 3D Cad modelling and detailing experience Ability to perform and present detailed engineering calculations verifying standards compliance. Ability to travel and go to site up to 15% on an as required basis Must have a current passport Must have an Australian Construction Industry White Card Experience in using the suite of Microsoft Office software (Word Excel Outlook Project) PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS CPEng and or RPEQ Experience in the use and application generally of Australian Standards; Strong proficiency in design and engineering of mechanical equipment and structures associated with mechanical equipment (AS 3990); Experienced in the design of pressure vessels (AS 1210) pressure piping (AS 4041) and above ground storage tanks (API 620 & API 650); Experienced in the application of AS1657 and AS4024 for the design of safe access systems and machinery safeguarding.
