We are seeking a dynamic and visionary School Principal to lead Communicare Academy as part of the broader Communicare Group. This is a unique opportunity to shape the strategic direction of the school, manage its operations and resources, and foster a culture of excellence, inclusion, and wellbeing. The Role The Principal delivers high-quality education and fosters a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment aligned with the strategic direction and policies set by the School Board. The role provides operational, instructional, and cultural leadership, ensuring the effective implementation of the Academy’s strategic vision and plans. A key focus of the role is meeting the needs of vulnerable young people. The Principal builds strong relationships with students, families, staff, and the wider community, promoting a culture of high performance that enhances both educational and socio-emotional outcomes. Accountable to the Chief of Education Services, the Principal works collaboratively with the Academy leadership team to embed strategic and operational plans, creating a contemporary learning environment that maximises student potential, supports success, and strengthens positive engagement among all stakeholders. This role will be located in Kenwick and offered on a permanent full time basis, working 76 hours a fortnight. Key Responsibilities Provide strategic leadership and operational management of the Academy. Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and registration standards. Lead and support staff in delivering high-quality education and wellbeing services. Maintain strong relationships with students, families, staff, and external stakeholders. Oversee risk management, budgeting, and performance monitoring. Promote the Academy’s values and represent its interests in the broader community. About You You are an experienced educational leader with a passion for inclusive education and a commitment to supporting vulnerable young people. You bring a collaborative leadership style, strong governance knowledge, and the ability to inspire and empower others. Additionally, you will have: A recognised teaching qualification and be currently registered or eligible for registration to teach in Western Australia Proven experience in a senior leadership role within an educational setting, preferably Principal or Acting Principal level. Strong understanding of CARE school environments and the needs of disengaged youth. Experience in developing a culture of effective teaching through leading, designing and managing the quality of teaching and learning. Experience in developing staff through managing performance and continuing professional learning and feedback, supporting staff to achieve high standards. Experience in successfully managing the complex, high care and inter-related needs and issues facing young people at risk. Demonstrated ability in leading and managing innovation and change to ensure a vision and strategic plan is implemented and realised. Exceptional communication, stakeholder engagement, and people management skills. Knowledge of governance, compliance, and strategic planning in education. Strong cultural competency and understanding of trauma-informed practices. Strong financial acumen with ability to analyse and evaluate information, identify issues and develop or approve appropriate solutions. Valid Working with Children Check, Police Clearance, and Driver’s Licence.
