Cost Control Officer – Queensland Rail Join Queensland Rail's Major Projects Finance team to contribute to the proud legacy of connecting people and communities across the state. As a Cost Control Officer you will support the business in improving cost management capability across major projects, raising purchase orders, receiving invoices, maintaining registers, and supporting managers with month‑end reporting and reviews. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain cost management and control protocols in compliance with Queensland Rail’s policy framework and legislative requirements. Conduct audits and reconciliations of financial systems and registers to ensure cost data accuracy. Provide monthly financial and variance analysis reporting to project teams. Advising on the creation and maintenance of a standard Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS) and a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) for cost accuracy and reporting. Coordinate month‑end accruals, invoice and claim validation and processing. Process financial requests such as purchase orders, goods receipts, and vendor invoicing set‑ups. Qualifications & Experience Knowledge of project management principles and lifecycle, financial management, and project control techniques. Substantial expertise in SAP R3 Financial Reporting, Projects Module, and Business Warehouse. Strong analytical, documentation, and data interpretation skills. Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, including clear communication of financial information. Experience reporting qualitative and quantitative cost and schedule data.
