Contracts Manager

PCJ Construction & Restoration Ltd is expanding and looking for an experienced Contracts Manager to oversee a range of residential and commercial building projects. We specialise in high-quality construction, refurbishment, and bespoke joinery installations, and we are seeking someone who can uphold our standards, drive efficiency, and deliver projects on time and within budget. We're seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to oversee our construction projects and joinery installations from tender stage through to practical completion. You'll manage site operations, coordinate trades, and ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to our exacting quality standards. Key Responsibilities Manage multiple construction contracts simultaneously, from small renovations to larger building projects Oversee site operations, health & safety compliance, and quality control Prepare and review tenders, costings, quotations, and project programmes Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and in-house trades Conduct site surveys, take-offs, and technical assessments Liaise with clients, architects, structural engineers, and building control Manage project budgets, cash flow, and variations Ensure compliance with CDM regulations, building control, and planning requirements Monitor progress against programme and resolve site issues proactively Handle client communications, site meetings, and project handovers Coordinate joinery installations within broader construction projects Key Requirements 5+ years experience managing construction contracts (residential or commercial) Strong understanding of construction methods, building regulations, and site management Proven track record delivering projects on time and within budget Experience coordinating multiple trades and subcontractors SMSTS qualification (or willingness to obtain) Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills Ability to read technical drawings, specifications, and structural calculations Strong commercial awareness and budget control Proficiency with project management software and Microsoft Office Full UK driving licence Experience with period property renovations and heritage building work Knowledge of traditional construction methods and joinery installations Understanding of listed building consent and conservation requirements Background in high-end residential or bespoke construction projects Membership of CIOB, RICS, or similar professional body What We Offer Competitive salary based on experience (£*****k DOE) Company vehicle and phone Opportunity to work on diverse and interesting construction projects Supportive team environment with skilled tradespeople Professional development and training opportunities Supportive, growing company with a strong pipeline of work Location: Cambridge, England, United KingdomSeniority level: Mid‑Senior levelEmployment type: Full‑timeInterested?
