Perdaman Global Services – Forrestfield WA Job Type: Permanent position | Full time position Job Description On Behalf of Payload Industries, they are looking for an experienced Production Planner to join their team. The purpose of this role is to optimize the production process by investigating materials such as metals and other advanced materials and ensuring all materials and resources are available to meet production targets and optimize production efficiency while minimizing costs. Duties & Responsibilities Review engineering drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs) to confirm material requirements and advise on appropriate material selection for design and manufacturing. Recommend and evaluate alternative materials to improve product performance, reduce waste, and enhance cost-effectiveness. Conduct analysis of material behavior under different operating conditions and provide technical guidance for process improvements. Provide technical input into manufacturing processes to optimize material usage and ensure durability. Create and maintain production schedules that meet customer demand while optimizing production efficiency and minimizing costs. Collaborate with the production team to identify opportunities for process improvements, such as reducing waste or improving cycle times, and implementing changes as needed. \Monitor production performance metrics, such as on-time delivery, production yield, and labor efficiency, and take corrective actions to address any issues or deviations from targets. Coordinate with other departments, such as after sales support, customer service, and quality assurance, to ensure that materials met specifications and customer satisfaction. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for production planning processes and ensure that all employees are trained on these procedures. Support the implementation of the Manufacturing Execution system by defining and validating material‑related data. Knowledge, Experience & Skills 3-5 years of experience in production planning, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Ability to read and understand engineering drawings. Detail‑oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize workload based on business needs. Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to use data to make informed decisions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams. Familiarity with ERP systems, MYOB EXO is preferred. Report writing skills.
