You’ll work with clients from the company’s broking business as well as third-party brokers. This role can be home-based at any location across the UK, and you will be allocated a panel of brokers in your area. You will underwrite a range of bespoke products geared to the Agricultural market, such as Farm Combined, Property, Liability, and specialist products. Responsibilities Contributing to and implementing underwriting strategy across all products, aligning with established risk appetite. Underwrite profitable new and renewal business, both remotely and whilst attending brokers’ offices. Directly impact financial KPIs by balancing revenue growth with underwriting profitability. Uphold service standards on all authorised products, ensuring Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) is woven into your approach at all times. Analyze distribution trends and broker behaviours to inform future strategies. Build meaningful, mutually beneficial relationships with in-house and 3rd party brokers. Manage quality assurance and peer reviews to identify opportunities for underwriting and product improvements. Keep abreast of market trends and developments in your industry segments, building strong relationships with capacity partners. Qualifications and Experience We are keen to hear from Development Underwriters or Farm Underwriters who enjoy trading, as well as Agricultural Insurance Brokers who are keen to move over to an MGA environment. Alongside a trader’s mentality, it is essential that you have some knowledge of Agricultural insurance, combined with a good understanding of the unique risks faced by those who live and work in the countryside. You must also have excellent communication skills, and the ability to effectively manage relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. You will have good numeracy and IT skills, as well as being well-organised with excellent task-management skills.
