As an security specialist you will contribute to ideation planning and designing the next generation compliance and threat modeling services. Key job responsibilities This role offers an opportunity to help define and launch new services that enhance security for AWSs global customer base. As a security specialist youll join a growing team of engineers focused on building transformative security services working to reinvent how Amazon and our customers perceive and experience security. You will help shape Global Services Securitys overall service offerings and how they help integrate together to help solve our customers problems. A day in the life You will collaborate with engineering teams across AWS to design deliver and refine solutions that make it easier for our global customers to operate secure and compliant workloads within AWS. Youll work closely with our business team to ensure a clear understanding of the core problem we aim to solve. Youll partner with Product Management UX Designer and developers to create appropriate user stories and a roadmap. Since the development and career progression of our team members is a priority you will also coach and mentor others on the team to support their growth and achievement of career goals. Experience in security or compliance consulting or advisory work in support of a highly technical environment 3 years of IT platform implementation in a technical and analytical role experience Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent or 5 years of IT Security experience 5 years in performing and / or participating in technical assessments in direct support of a major compliance effort (e.g. NIST SOC 2 or ISO) Masters degree or above in a technical or engineering related field such as Electrical Engineering Computer Science etc. Experience with compliance & security standards including PCI DSS ISO 27001 HIPAA and NIST Knowledge of one or more of the following domains : access-control system and methodology network security application- and system-development security security architecture and models cryptography and operations security 1 years of technical specialist design and architecture experience or AWS Professional level certification Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle including coding standards software architectures code reviews source control management continuous deployments testing and operational excellence Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences including executive level stakeholders or clients Acknowledgement of country : In the spirit of reconciliation Amazon acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land sea and community.
