Our global presence spans USA, Denmark, Germany, Dubai, and distributors in 70+ countries. About the Role We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Sydney team. The role reports to VP of Embedded Systems and focuses on developing and maintaining DroneShield’s RFAI-ATK Disruptor Capability. Collaborate with ML/AI, Data Science, RF, and infrastructure teams to innovate and enhance our anti-drone technology. Responsibilities Implement new software features from concept to delivery, gathering user requirements and diagnosing production issues. Interface with Front-End and API teams. Utilize industry best practices to deliver and maintain robust and efficient APIs for seamless integration with external and internal systems. Advance the development of software architecture design processes, ensuring reliability and performance on resource-constrained targets. Adopt a test-driven development mindset. Document software architecture and processes. Collaborate with engineering to ensure reliable end‑to‑end system operation. Work with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver on user and business requirements. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members. Qualifications BS degree in Computer Science, Mechatronics, Electronic Engineering, or similar technical field, or equivalent experience. 5–7 years of related experience, e.g., Software Engineer, Linux Embedded Engineer, Software Architect. Strong knowledge of Python software development, API design, software architecture and design patterns (event loops, dependency injection, OOP), inter‑device and inter‑process communication (gRPC, REST, TCP/UDP, or other high‑performance messaging). Experience with development tools: Git, Jira, Confluence, CI/CD. Preferred: Comfortable with Linux command line, experience in Golang or Modern C++, software architecture design, microservice architecture, and hardware‑in‑the‑loop CI/CD design.
