(Organisation site )Financial Operations and Procurement; Financial Services; Corporate Services; Brisbane CityThe Principal Procurement Officer’s role is to assist in managing the strategic procurement function on behalf of the operational and support divisions of the Department of Justice and Attorney-General.Lead strategic sourcing initiatives for high value, high risk, and complex categories/commodities, developing procurement strategies maximising departmental benefits.Oversee supplier selection and negotiation processes, involving key stakeholders to ensure alignment with operational needs and stakeholder requirements.Support the manager in mentoring and managing procurement staff, facilitating their professional development and ensuring effective performance.Cultivate and manage strong networks and relationships with key stakeholders and team members within the Department of Justice and Attorney-General.Develop and uphold procurement policies and procedures aligning with legislative acts, government policies, and departmental guidelines, including adherence to whole-of-government policies.Provide senior management level expertise in procurement practices, offering high- level advice to clients and customers.Contribute to the formulation of the department's Corporate Procurement Plan and Forward Procurement Schedule, enhancing procurement governance.Represent the Department in pertinent Queensland Government forums, influencing the development of governmental policies and guidelines.Applications to remain current for 12 months.Job Ad Reference: QLD/567737/24Further information
