Studio Schools of Australia – Fitzroy Crossing WA Studio Schools of Australia (SSA) was established in 2019 to bring about a “system” level change in secondary education for Indigenous students in remote communities across northern Australia. This “system level” reform is based on well‑established evidence of what works for Indigenous students, their families and communities, in a scalable, proven work‑related model of education introduced at the Yiramalay / Wesley Studio School in the Kimberley, Western Australia, in 2010. SSA’s mission is to enable Indigenous students to lead their own advancement and to take a valuable and meaningful place in their own communities and within Australia. Job Summary: The Teacher Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the educational environment at our school. This position is designed for semi‑experienced individuals who are passionate about fostering a positive learning atmosphere for students. The Teacher Assistant will work closely with teachers to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes, ensuring that all students receive the support they need to thrive academically and socially. Help maintain a clean and organized classroom environment. Monitor student behavior and provide feedback to teachers on student progress. Participate in training and professional development activities to enhance skills. Collaborate with other staff members to create a supportive learning environment. Qualifications Minimum 1‑2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within an educational or institutional setting. Completion of a Certificate III in Education Support or equivalent qualification. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Basic understanding of child development and learning processes. First Aid Certificate (preferred). Drivers Licence – Mandatory. Current WA Working with Children Check and National Police Certificate – Mandatory. Ability to assist with culturally responsive teaching practices. Demonstrated understanding of child development and learning processes relevant to remote Indigenous communities. Demonstrated commitment to child safety and protection, aligned with WA legislation and Studio Schools' policies. Employment Due to Australian immigration regulations, applicants must have Australian work rights.
