Reporting to the Operational Risk Manager, this role will partner with the business as a trusted advisor, providing risk management advice, support, assurance and challenge to the respective portfolios, such as the Suncorp Bank Home Lending portfolio.This is a unique opportunity to redefine risk management paradigms, contributing to a future where your professional acumen shapes success in a dynamically evolving landscape.What you’ll doSupport the Bank to embed a culture of effective risk management.Contribute to driving simplification and an increased awareness of risk management through successful interaction and strong relationship management with key stakeholders across the portfolios.Work closely with the 1st line of defence to ensure that appropriate risk and compliance obligations exist, and that governance processes and reporting are implemented effectivelyDrive and assist in the design, implementation and on-going maintenance of operational risk and control management methodology and practices by providing an independent view, specialist support and advice to the Bank.Stay ahead of industry and regulatory developments, contributing to the identification and mitigation of risks across the BankEnsure timely escalation of material adverse matters, systemic issues, or inactions to the Risk Manager for swift resolutionProactively lead and coach the Bank's teams, elevating their capabilities in risk management framework and methodology, thereby enhancing the organization's overall risk identification and management skillsWhat you’ll bringDegree in a business or risk-related discipline (desired)Postgraduate qualifications highly regarded5+ years of operational or financial risk management experience in banking5+ years of experience in operational risk management or business operations management in Banking management.Proven experience in dealing with multiple stakeholders, including senior management.Experience in the co-ordination of key programs of work or projects.Experience in balancing risk-related requirements with commercial realities, budgetary and business goals.What we can offerDiscounts and offers on a range of retail favourite stores as well as banking and insurance productsGive back to our communities with payroll giving, donation matching and paid volunteer leaveInvest in your brighter future with ongoing study support and career development programs; andPrioritise your work/life balance with our robust employee assistance program and dedicated employee councilWe’re proud to be a part of the Suncorp Group family alongside some of Australia and New Zealand’s most trusted names in insurance – working together to bring about faster, simpler and better outcomes for our customers and corporate partners.
