About this opportunity: We are looking for a strong HR professional with experience in a similar role. As People Partner Employee Relations, you will be responsible for the execution of performance and conduct management matters offering professionalism, discretion, and sound judgement. Partnering cross-functionally with People Operational Partners you will assist to build a high-performance culture alongside people leaders that demonstrates the organisational signature traits of care, curiosity, courage, commitment and connection. Key Responsibilities: Provide high-level, pragmatic advice on employee relations and performance management matters, ensuring decisions align with Council policies and current legislation. Collaborate with internal/external stakeholders—including unions, employee representatives, and legal experts—to resolve issues and mitigate ER risks. Develop and deliver educational resources and programs that uplift capability and reduce ER exposure. Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills: Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Law, or a related field (highly regarded). Demonstrated experience in employee relations, industrial relations, or HR advisory roles. Proven ability to lead organisational performance and disciplinary investigations, including complex case management. Strong knowledge of relevant employment legislation, enterprise bargaining, and best practice frameworks. Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to develop and deliver educational resources and programs to mitigate employee relations risks.
