Luxury Residential and Commercial Projects Projects spanning Australia & Hawaii Sydney-based role with travel to Central Coast Interior Designer About the role This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Interior Designer with a minimum of 7 years of experience to contribute to some of Australia’s most unique design and construction projects. The candidate will work collaboratively with the Director and a team of 7 on residential and commercial projects. The role involves managing and mentoring junior designers, and working from the Sydney, Stanmore office. The start date for this role will be Monday 19th of January 2026. About us Michelle Leslie Studio is an award-winning Interior Design Studio realising covetable commercial and residential spaces distinguished by their sensorial atmospheres and engaging artisanal elements. With projects spanning from Australia to Hawaii, the studio is currently looking for a talented interior designer to join the team. Company Culture and Philosophy The company views architecture, interior design, and styling as one. Through the company's deep understanding of creating unique spaces, they explore how people experience an environment and what design can bring to that narrative. The Interior Designer will be involved in managing client relationships but will not hold primary responsibility. Key Responsibilities Ideation and conceptual design Design refinement Presentation and mood board creation Stakeholder engagement Client: presentations and briefings; site inspection and measure Contractors Providing responses to and delegating RFIs, reviewing shop drawings Suppliers Sourcing and specification Scheduling and creation of schedules: finishes categories, FF&E Drafting Creation of documentation packs Management of external drafters Budgeting, sourcing and procurement Bump-in and install Role Requirements Essential Autocad - critical Relevant trade, diploma or tertiary qualifications Sketching 7+ years experience in residential and commercial projects Extensive sourcing knowledge Creation of sample boards Finish specification Fabrics, leathers, tiles, etc. Suitability knowledge on durability, stain resistance, etc. Treatment options (burnishing, staining, etc.) Paint (suitability for spaces) Regulatory knowledge such as fire rating, slip rating standards Furnishing Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship skills Excellent creative thinking and design skillsEnergy and passion for your work and industry Driver’s license and own transportation Desirable Google Workspace Fohlio (or similar tool) Benefits Mix of office and work from home Opportunities for professional development and continuing education within the company How to apply Suitable applicants are invited to submit a resume via Seek.
