Senior Infrastructure/ Security Engineer Hybrid Role: Infrastructure and Cyber Security Location: North Sydney Great career prospects We are looking for a highly skilled Wintel Security Engineer to join our client’s cloud security team. This role focuses on securing Windows-based environments, ensuring robust infrastructure protection, and supporting secure cloud operations within Microsoft Azure. You’ll play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining security controls across on‑premises and cloud platforms. Key Responsibilities Design and implement security solutions for Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022) and Azure workloads. Harden Wintel infrastructure including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and file/print services. Monitor and respond to security incidents, vulnerabilities, and compliance issues across Wintel and Azure platforms. Manage endpoint protection, patching, and configuration baselines using tools like Microsoft Defender, SCCM, and Intune. Collaborate with cloud and infrastructure teams to secure hybrid environments and enforce security policies. Implement and maintain Azure security services including Defender for Cloud, Sentinel, Key Vault, and Azure Policy. Conduct regular audits, risk assessments, and vulnerability scans across Wintel and Azure assets. Develop and maintain security documentation, procedures, and technical standards. Essential Skills and Experience 5+ years of experience in Wintel engineering with a strong focus on security. Solid understanding of Windows Server architecture, Active Directory, Group Policy, and PowerShell scripting. Experience with Azure IaaS/PaaS security, identity management, and cloud governance. Familiarity with security frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, CIS). Hands‑on experience with endpoint protection, patch management, and vulnerability remediation. Strong troubleshooting skills across network, server, and cloud environments. Relevant certifications such as AZ-500 , SC-200 , Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate , or Security+ are highly desirable.
