Power Station Operator/ Maintainer (Electrical and Instrumentation) This is a great opportunity to work with an innovative company focused on delivering energy to the resources and utilities sectors throughout Australia and Asia-Pacific. We are currently seeking expressions of interest for a qualified, highly motivated and enthusiastic Power Station Operator (Electrical and Instrumentation) to join our growing Great Energy team. 12 month fixed‑term full‑time position based on a 2/2 FIFO role with the possibility of extension. About the role Reporting to the power station supervisor, the roles of the Power Station operator are but not limited to: Operate the power station and ensure electrical energy supply is maintained to customers’ critical services and plant systems. Maintain high thermal efficiency while operating in a way that does not introduce supply‑risk to critical services and plant systems. Complete daily readings, data entry, data analysis and reports. Adhere to all KPI’s set by the customer and Great Energy. Carry out routine maintenance and repairs on associated power station plant and equipment. Identify, recommend and implement improvements to safety and maintenance systems and procedures. Investigate, research, troubleshoot and recommend solutions for operational and maintenance problems. Follow Great Energy’s and the customer’s safety and work‑management systems. Adhere to all of Great Energy’s and the customer’s policies and procedures. To be successful in this role you must have previous experience in 5+ years’ experience in power station O&M. Demonstrated experience in electrical and instrumentation fault‑finding and maintenance activities. Experience working with Power Generation Systems & Equipment. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships. Proven time‑management skills to effectively manage and deliver multiple priorities. Experience working in remote locations on a variety of rosters. Experience with SAP maintenance‑management system. Quality assurance experience. Understanding of contract obligations and acting in accordance with contract. Permit to work systems compliance. Hazard Identification, risk assessments, JSA’s, Take 5’s & associated paperwork. Desirable qualifications and licences Experience maintaining gas and steam turbines and related systems. Queensland Electrical Fitter Electrical Mechanic Licence. Certificate III in Instrumentation & Control. High Risk Work Licence. WP Boom Elevated Work Platform. BA Advanced Boiler Operation. TO Turbine Operation. EEHA – Electrical Equipment in Hazardous Areas. High Voltage Switching.
