Willowmavin Primary School is seeking an enthusiastic and team‑oriented part‑time Teacher (day negotiable) to join the Willowmavin staff in making our school the best it can be for its students, its staff and the community. Located approximately 5 minutes drive from Kilmore, an hour north of Melbourne, our school sits within a beautiful landscape. Staff collaborate to achieve success for students and the school. They work as a Professional Learning Community, analysing student assessment data to evaluate and plan teaching programmes. Regular professional learning ensures teaching is aligned with evidence‑based best practice. Staff partner with families to pursue continuous improvement of student outcomes. Our Curriculum We prioritise outstanding literacy and numeracy outcomes. Daily one‑hour lessons in Reading, Writing and Mathematics provide differentiated instruction. The Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships program supports respectful citizenship and positive mental wellbeing. Specialist subjects include Visual Art, Digital Technologies, Italian, and Health and Physical Education. Our Families Students achieve greater outcomes when schools collaborate with families. We build close relationships and empower families to engage in their child's learning. Activities both inside and outside the classroom, along with parent bodies, facilitate this partnership. Regular surveys, parent groups, forums and multiple communication avenues gather valuable feedback to improve school performance. Selection Criteria SC1 Demonstrated knowledge of the curriculum, including literacy and numeracy teaching and experience responding to student learning needs. SC2 Experience planning and implementing high‑impact teaching strategies and evaluating their impact on student growth. SC3 Experience monitoring and assessing student learning and using data to inform teaching and provide feedback to students and parents. SC4 Strong interpersonal and communication skills; establishment of collaborative relationships with students, parents, colleagues and community. SC5 Alignment with Department values and commitment to professional learning and reflective practice. Role The classroom teacher classification includes two salary ranges – range 1 and range 2. The primary focus is planning, preparation and teaching to achieve specific student outcomes. Through critical reflection and inquiry, teachers improve their knowledge and skills to engage students and enhance learning. Teachers in range 2 support school improvement and policy implementation. They provide expert advice, mentor other teachers and supervise student teachers. Teachers in range 1 develop teaching practice with guidance from senior teachers, manage classrooms, and may assist in policy and co‑curriculum activities. Responsibilities Direct teaching of groups of students and individual students; Contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of a curriculum area or other curriculum programme; Undertake other teaching and organisational duties as directed by the School Principal; Participate in activities such as parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions; Perform non‑teaching supervisory duties. Who May Apply Teachers registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching, qualified to teach and/or with demonstrated experience in the specified curriculum areas. More information is available at Qualification Requirements Provisional or full registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching; If completed an Australian postgraduate level initial teaching program on or after 1 January 2024, a postgraduate level accredited initial teacher education program must be completed; If graduated from a Victorian Initial Teacher Education program after 1 July 2016, demonstration of passing the LANTITE requirement.
