Volunteering with Elder Rights Australia: Companionship & Social Support Volunteer with Elder Rights Australia to improve the health and wellbeing of older Victorians. This role provides an opportunity to gain personal satisfaction, contribute your talents and experience, and develop new skills while helping reduce social isolation. responsibilities Visit an older person in their home or aged care facility at least fortnightly (weekly preferred). Engage in varied activities such as playing a game, chatting, gentle walk, reading or listening to music. Maintain clear boundaries, confidentiality, and meet regularly with a program officer for support. Complete simple monthly surveys. About you Must be 18+. Have a genuine interest in easing loneliness in older people. Demonstrate empathy, compassion, and active listening skills. Maintain clear boundaries, confidentiality, and work independently with confidence. Reliable, flexible, and able to seek support and guidance as required.
