We are seeking applications from creative and future-focused educators for a STEAM Teacher position within our Junior Campus , commencing in 2026 . About the Role As a STEAM Teacher at LCGS, you will deliver dynamic, inquiry-driven learning experiences across Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics for students from Prep to Grade 6. Working within the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP), you will support transdisciplinary Units of Inquiry and inspire students to think creatively, solve problems, and explore real-world concepts with curiosity. As part of this role, you will be required to: Plan and deliver high-quality STEAM lessons aligned with the Australian Curriculum and IB PYP inquiry-based philosophy. Promote hands‑on, project-based learning that cultivates experimentation, collaboration, and critical thinking. Work closely with classroom teachers to integrate STEAM concepts into transdisciplinary learning experiences. Develop, maintain, and document a coherent Prep–Grade 6 STEAM scope and sequence. Use assessment data to monitor student progress and inform planning. Support whole‑school initiatives that celebrate STEAM learning, such as science fairs, exhibitions or maker events. Engage professionally in ongoing learning, including IB PYP training and school‑based development. Contribute positively to the Junior Campus community and uphold the school’s commitment to child safety and wellbeing. This is a part‑time 0.4 FTE role with hours to be worked across Monday–Friday . About You We are seeking an enthusiastic and innovative educator who demonstrates: A strong understanding of inquiry-based learning and the IB PYP framework. Experience teaching STEAM subjects in a primary school setting, including knowledge of child development from Prep to Grade 6. The ability to design engaging, hands‑on learning experiences that integrate multiple STEAM disciplines. A commitment to supporting diverse learners through differentiation and thoughtful instructional design. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, staff and families. Professionalism, reflective practice, and a passion for creativity, innovation and future-focused education. Alignment with the values and Anglican ethos of Launceston Church Grammar School. Qualifications and Requirements Bachelor of Education (or equivalent). Current or eligible registration with the Tasmanian Teachers Registration Board . Working with Vulnerable People (Tasmania) registration. HLTAID012 – Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting . Strong understanding of PYP principles is highly regarded.
