About Northern Beaches Hospital Operated by Healthscope, Northern Beaches Hospital (NBH) is located in Frenchs Forest in Northern Sydney just 13 kilometres north of the CBD. The hospital is a contemporary 488‑bed facility comprising 60% public and 40% private beds. We provide a wide range of health services to the local community including surgery, a 50‑bed emergency department, intensive care, birthing, paediatrics, cardiac, mental health, dialysis, cancer centre and outpatients. NBH has thirteen operating theatres, one hybrid/cardiac catheter theatre, two catheter laboratories and four endoscopy procedure rooms, all supported by a critical care unit which includes two intensive care wards. Northern Beaches Hospital is a dedicated facility for all patients in our local area. About the Role Clinical Nurse Consultant – Infection Control will lead the direction on the Infection Prevention and Control Program to ensure a safe environment for staff, patients, and visitors at NBH. This role will lead the promotion of a safety‑driven workplace culture and support compliance with infection control standards and accreditation requirements. Working collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams, the successful candidate will coordinate the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of infection control policies, procedures and standards. The position also includes providing expert leadership and guidance on infection control practices, driving strategic initiatives, supporting operational processes, and facilitating continuous improvement. You will report to the Accreditation Manager and be supported by senior medical, nursing and allied health teams. Responsibilities Coordinate the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of infection control policies, procedures and standards. Provide expert leadership and guidance on infection control practices. Drive strategic initiatives and support operational processes. Facilitate continuous improvement in infection prevention and control. Report to the Accreditation Manager and collaborate with senior medical, nursing and allied health teams. Essential Criteria Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse. Attendance of a Health Practitioner Immuniser course (or willingness to complete the course in the secondment). Bachelor of Nursing (or equivalent) with a postgraduate qualification in infection control, or a related field (or working towards).
