Where you'll be working Ryde Social Work Department – Ryde Hospital is having an incredible $479 million complete hospital redevelopment that will transform the delivery of healthcare for the Ryde local community. The Ryde Hospital Redevelopment will result in new health facilities and enhanced services including emergency, ICU/critical care, inpatient units, outpatient/ambulatory care services and much more. Construction commenced in early 2023, and will provide you with a wonderful and exciting opportunity to be part of the Ryde team to change the future health services for the Ryde Community completely. What you'll be doing The development and provision of comprehensive bereavement support, psychosocial and connected care towards and at the end of life and / or palliative care period. This position will provide a social work service at an advanced level of clinical practice to inpatients, outpatients, their families and carers. People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply. Qualifications Tertiary qualifications or Master degree in Social Work and eligibility for the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), including the ability to demonstrate a practical application of the AASW Code of Ethics; demonstrated experience as a Social Worker Level 2 or above. Demonstrate extensive specialist knowledge and experience at a Level 2 in life limiting illness in inpatient and outpatient palliative care and demonstrated advanced clinical skills in comprehensive psycho-social assessments, counselling and therapeutic interventions, complex clinical casework, group work, advocacy and discharge planning. Demonstrated ability to initiate, lead, complete and implement quality improvement and research activities and demonstrated experience in the provision of supervision of social workers and social work students.
