Vets For Compassion is looking for Volunteer Vets to join our growing emergency response and wildlife care team, and we’d love to hear from you Why You’ll Love This Role Give back in a way that truly matters: your skills directly help injured wildlife, distressed animals, and worried members of the public. Learn and expand your wildlife experience: while most callouts involve wildlife, we cover all species so you might see a kangaroo one day and a goat the next Hands‑on, exciting, and meaningful: no day, no case, and no callout is ever the same. Flexible around your life: volunteer when it works for you; no rigid commitments. Incredible team culture: supportive, friendly, positive, and passionate. Ongoing training & development: regular workshops, skills sessions, wildlife education, and scenario‑based training throughout the year. Mentorship program: well set you up for success, not throw you in the deep end. All equipment provided: and all out‑of‑pocket costs covered (once your probationary period is complete). What You’ll Be Doing Providing veterinary support to our wildlife responders Assisting with triage, assessment, and advice Participating in callouts (when available and comfortable) Helping manage a wide range of species, from macropods to farm animals Working alongside highly trained darters and wildlife specialists Making rapid, humane, welfare‑focused decisions that change lives Who We’re Looking For Registered veterinarian (wildlife interest welcome but not required) Enthusiastic about learning and expanding your clinical experience Calm, compassionate, and team‑focused Excited by unpredictable, hands‑on work Keen to be part of a positive, supportive team environment Wildlife experience is not essential – we will train and mentor you.
