Trucks are always in constant need to transport and service industry. “Truck technicians regularly earn 1.5x more than the traditional mechanic.” About the job: As a heavy vehicle apprentice, we will provide you with all the necessary training, experience and support to develop into a fully qualified heavy vehicle technician. You will undertake a Certificate 3 in Heavy Vehicle Commercial Mechanical Technology (AUR31116) Your training continues beyond the classroom, with continuous on-the-job and national Original Equipment Manufacturer training. State-of-the-art facilities, including the latest computer diagnostic equipment. Opportunities to represent Patterson Cheney Trucks at National and International Competitions. Be rewarded for your hard work as a valued workshop team member. Who are we looking for? Completed a Cert II in heavy vehicle automotive Completed or currently completing Year 12, VCAL or pre-apprenticeship program. Have a current driver's licence (Preferred). Ambitious, reliable and well-presented. Motivated, eager to learn and committed to completing a 4-year apprenticeship term. Ability to work as part of a team. Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems with a desire to learn. A strong understanding of safety in the workplace. Available to commence in January 2026. What do we offer?
