Control System Engineer, Automation Technician or Industrial Electrician

Control System Engineer, Automation Technician or Industrial Electrician Select Industrial is on the lookout for experienced Automation Technicians, Electricians and/or Control System Engineers to join our team. Our operations span a broad range of project and breakdown focused automation solutions and industrial contracting services in the Northern Territory. Job Tasks and Responsibilities Electrical Design Collaborate with the engineering team to create electrical designs for automation systems. Develop and review electrical schematics and drawings for various projects. Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations in electrical design. Project Management Manage automation projects from inception to completion, including planning, execution, and documentation. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure project timelines and deliverables are met. Troubleshoot and address any issues that may arise during project execution. Breakdown Work Perform diagnostics and repairs for automation systems during breakdown situations. Quickly assess and resolve technical issues to minimize downtime and maintain system efficiency. Conduct preventive maintenance to prevent future breakdowns. PLC Programming Develop, modify, and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programs for automation systems. Ensure the reliability and efficiency of control logic and sequence of operations. Implement safety interlocks and fail-safes in PLC programs. SCADA Programming Design and configure Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems. Create HMI (Human-Machine Interface) screens for monitoring and controlling industrial processes. Integrate SCADA systems with PLCs and other control devices. Documentation Maintain comprehensive documentation for all control system designs, programming, and project-related activities. Create operation manuals and training materials for end-users. Keep accurate records of project progress and changes. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or related field experience. Proficiency in PLC and SCADA programming, with experience in industry-standard software (or a strong desire to build some field exposure in Automation). Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Interest and competency in the use of technology and AI systems. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Knowledge of industrial automation components and systems. Familiarity with electrical codes and safety standards. Ability to work autonomously or thrive in a team environment. Valid issued driver’s license allowing legal driving on Australian roads. Must be an Australian resident or possess a valid working visa.
