We are looking for a dental assistant who helps create exceptional patient care—bringing a friendly, welcoming presence, proactive problem-solving, and strong teamwork skills. About Us At Berwick Orthodontic Specialist, we offer a comprehensive range of orthodontic treatments including traditional braces, clear aligners and other appliances. Our practice values professionalism, teamwork, and the joy of creating confident smiles. This role is based primarily at Berwick Orthodontic Specialists , with occasional coverage required at our two sister clinics, South Yarra Orthodontics and Hawthorn Orthodontics to cover annual leave or staff absence. What We Offer Permanent position: 4 or 5 days per week (negotiable) Being part of a friendly and fun team Full on-the-job training, including use of advanced technology such as the iTero scanner Opportunities for professional development A Supportive leadership team Conveniently located near Berwick Train Station Street parking available next to our building About You Dental assisting experience (required) Certificate III or IV in Dental Assisting (highly regarded) Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal A warm and professional manner with the ability to build rapport with children and adults Experience assisting patients both in person and over the phone Strong attention to detail Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team A punctual, reliable, and professional work ethic Key Responsibilities Provide chairside assistance to our orthodontists and oral health therapists (including note-taking and providing oral hygiene instructions to patients). Support infection control and sterilisation procedures in line with best practice Preparing treatment rooms and coordinating lab work Provide compassionate patient care and ensuring a positive experience for every patient Perform occasional reception duties when needed - answering phones, scheduling appointments, taking payments, greeting patients, and managing the front desk Travel between clinics occasionally to cover absences or annual leave The Finer Details The role is 4 or 5 days per week (negotiable) 8:15 am until 5:30 pm with a 10 minute morning tea break and a 1 hour lunch break Salary: Negotiable based on skills and experience If you are looking for a stable, long-term position in a well-established specialist orthodontic practice, we would love to hear from you.
