The Dementia Support Assistant provides personalized, one-on-one support and engagement to residents living with dementia, primarily in Eldercare Memory Support Units. This role collaborates closely with site-based leadership, with support from the Clinical Nurse Consultant – Dementia, to ensure high-quality care and support for residents. Key Responsibilities Provide individualized care and emotional support to residents living with dementia. Engage residents in meaningful activities aligned with their backgrounds and interests to foster comfort, familiarity, and positive emotions. Create a safe, supportive environment that promotes independence, dignity, and well-being. Respond empathetically to residents' emotional needs to foster a calm and reassuring environment. Assist care staff with activities of daily living when called upon by site management. About The Role Locations across 13 sites in Adelaide Metro and Yorke Peninsula. Permanent part-time and casual opportunities. Qualifications and Skills Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) or Aged Care, or equivalent. Minimum of 6 months experience in aged care. Experience in participating and organizing recreational or leisure activities. Specific experience working with older adults; dementia-specific experience is advantageous. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Enthusiastic, motivated, and eager to learn. Strong time management and organizational skills.
