The Woolpack Hotel is one of the oldest pubs in Tumut, established in 1850 and located in the Riverina region of NSW on the western foothills of the Snowy Mountains. The Woolpack is family‑run and a little over two hours from Canberra and four hours from Sydney. We are looking for an experienced chef to join and lead our team in the Woolpack Bistro. This is the ideal position for someone looking to lead a kitchen and manage the creative decisions for the Bistro. It is a full‑time permanent position with competitive compensation. Responsibilities Have experience working in busy kitchen, however all levels of experience will be considered and compensated accordingly Enjoy the opportunities that come with a flexible, full‑time schedule that will include a mix of day, evening and weekend work Be ready to grow with the pub as it expands its outdoor dining and accommodation facilities Relish the opportunity to have plenty of creative decision‑making opportunities with the fixed menu and weekly specials Be able to supervise and guide kitchen staff, promoting a collaborative and positive working environment Communicate well with local vendors and suppliers as they manage food purchasing and inventory Tumut is the gateway to Kosciusko National Park and Tumut State Forest. It is a town of rich history and community with beautiful surrounding nature that changes with the distinct seasons of the region, allowing locals and visitors to enjoy camping, hiking, cycling and water activities year‑round. It is a great family town, home to excellent facilities, including public and private schools, a new hospital and many sporting and recreation facilities.
