You will play a vital role in operating and maintaining top-tier track machinery on one of Australia's largest privately‑owned rail networks. What You Need to Succeed: Proven experience (minimum of 2 years) as a Track Machine Operator, with hands‑on familiarity with Plasser machinery such as the 09‑3x Tamper, SSP Regulators, Unimat Tamper, and Track Stabiliser Solid understanding of rail operations and maintenance procedures Certification in Cert II Rail Infrastructure (minimum); Cert III preferred Trade qualification in mechanical or electrical disciplines (highly desirable) Competent in operating advanced rail resurfacing equipment, including Tampers and Regulators, for both maintenance and construction activities Ability to perform preventative maintenance and accurately document inspections Knowledge of ALC software is beneficial Valid full C Class Driver’s License or higher with no restrictions; HR licence preferred (but not essential) Construction Card (white/blue) and 4WD Training certifications Ability to pass Railway Category 1 Medical and drug/alcohol testing Embrace a safety‑first mindset and robust safety protocols Nice‑to‑Have Skills: Experience with mining or remote work environments Exposure to rail resurfacing equipment and comprehensive knowledge of industry safety standards Experience with machinery maintenance diagnostics and troubleshooting Preferred Education & Experience: Minimum of 2 years in track machine operation or similar rail maintenance roles Relevant certifications supporting technical expertise in rail infrastructure and machinery Additional Requirements: Willingness to work a 12‑hour day shift on a 12/9 FIFO roster Ability to travel to multiple sites as part of a mobile rail operations team Focused on safety, quality and continuous learning in a fast‑paced environment At Chandler Macleod, we are committed to fostering a diverse workforce where everyone is welcome.
