About the role Reporting to the Technical Services Manager on site the Senior Mining Engineer role is a key position focused on the medium term (13 weeks) mine planning and design of our underground Copper Gold mine. The role will be primarily based in Brisbane with approximately one week a month at the Tritton mine and reports directly to the Technical Services Manager. You will be working with the mining team at site (short term focused) and the LOM planning in the corporate office to support aligning the strategic mine planning goals with the short term plans. We have a strong focus on coaching training and continuous improvement and this role will have the opportunity to make a difference while developing key leadership and technical skills for your future. Responsibilities include: Oversee the preparation of medium-term production plans for Tritton that meet or exceed budget Ensure short term production plans and schedules are integrated with medium and long term mine plans Develop proposals for the most suitable mining method considering the depth and characteristics of deposits and their surroundings Prepare plans for the mine(s) including declines drives and shafts using computer aided design software packages Liaise with the Mine Superintendent and Technical Services personnel on the implementation of plans and the achievement of targeted production Support the compliance of ventilation standards for the removal of dusts and gases and assist in the update of the Ventsim model after each quarterly ventilation survey. Make decisions about best use of own time and other available resources Think ahead to anticipate issues and problems and develop plans to address Provide guidance leadership and mentoring to the production engineer roles About You Bachelor of Engineering (Mining) Experience in underground mining (Stope mining) Advanced computer skills - preferably Deswik Understanding of relevant legislative requirements Self‑Motivated, analytical, with good organisational skills.
