Civil Construction Roles Machine Operators & Labourers Location: Townsville, QLD ️Property Development| Civil, Commercial & Residential Construction Full-Time hours | Long-Term & Ongoing Projects (300 + dwellings in the pipeline of work) Reports To: Site Supervisors About the Role We’re expanding our civil construction team and have multiple openings for skilled and reliable crew members. Whether you operate heavy machinery, lay underground services, or assist with general site works, we want to hear from you. These roles are hands‑on and vital to delivering quality infrastructure in our Townsville projects. Positions Available Key Responsibilities – but not limited to Operate excavators, loaders, rollers, and other plant equipment Conduct daily pre‑start checks and maintain machinery Assist with trenching, bulk earthworks, and site preparation Install stormwater, sewer, and water mains Read and interpret plans and levels Work with laser levels and trench shields Ensure pipe alignment, bedding, and compaction meet standards Support site setup, trenching, concreting, and backfilling Use hand and power tools safely Assist trades and operators as neededMaintain a clean and safe worksite Proven experience in relevant field (2+ years preferred) Sound knowledge of materials, tools, and construction techniques Ability to read and interpret construction plans White Card (Construction Induction) – essential Current driver’s licence and reliable transport Previous experience in civil construction (preferred) Pipe laying experience and confined space ticket (for pipelayers) Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and pride in workmanship Ability to follow instructions and work in a team Ability to work independently and as part of a team What We Offer Stable, ongoing work with weekend work available Opportunities to work on high‑quality residential and commercial projects Supportive team environment Competitive hourly rate based on experience Opportunities for long‑term permanent employment following probation period Why Work with MKM Developments?
