Instrumental Music Instructor - Woodwind Department of Education Victoria – Maribyrnong VIC Maribyrnong College provides a broad education for students in Years 7–12. It offers a state‑funded Sports Specialism programme, a strong EAL program and an International Student Program supporting approximately 50 international students. The College delivers VCE, a High Achiever Programme and a robust extra‑curricular program including instrumental music and drama, within a campus that includes a 230‑seat theatre and a sport stadium. Selection Criteria SC1 Demonstrated capacity to perform duties consistent with established guidelines and frameworks, including coordinating and supporting others in respect to specific work functions relevant to the role. SC2 Demonstrated capacity to work and collaborate with others in a team environment. SC3 Demonstrated capacity to communicate effectively in a team environment, including high‑level oral and written communication skills. SC4 Possess the technical knowledge and expertise relevant to the position. SC5 Demonstrated capacity to provide advice and support to management and other school staff in respect to the work area. SC6 A commitment to professional learning and growth for both self and others. Role Attendance is required 1 day per week. The position is at Range 3, which involves management responsibility and accountability for the delivery of professional support services. The role will typically impact beyond the work area or professional field, requiring cooperation of other staff members or members of the school community to achieve specific objectives. Direction on targets and goals is provided, but the position has latitude in determining how they are achieved, subject to standard procedures and school policy. Responsibilities Deliver instruction in the instrumental music program, individually and/or in small groups. Conduct and run ensembles and the string orchestra, inclusive of all skill levels. Prepare students for AMEB examinations, where appropriate. Assist and prepare students for instrumental concerts, performances, official school events and productions – some of which may be outside of the regular school day.
