Central Tablelands Local Land Services is seeking expressions of interest from applicants to act in the role of Team Leader Agricultural Services for 12 months with a proposed start date of Monday 19 January 2026. Location negotiable across the Central Tablelands region with options for flexible work that balances time both in and out of region. About the Role This exciting role of Team Leader Agricultural Services is an opportunity to lead a team of professionals working directly with land managers and industry stakeholders across the Central Tablelands Local Land Services region. Responsibilities Lead the Agriculture Services Team The Central Tablelands Ag Team is made up of 7 multidisciplinary staff who work across the region providing extension services on‑ground advice, written resources and complex project delivery activities. You’ll work with them to manage finances and delivery targets to respond real‑time to changing customer needs and support them to make sound and accountable decisions that deliver outcomes. You’ll work 1‑on‑1 with each of them providing coaching and development support as well as setting high standards for safety accountability and quality through trusted leadership approaches. You’ll maintain and build a vibrant and collaborative team culture that sees all team members engaged and supporting each other. An environment where their goals are clear, they are resilient to change and they collaborate proactively. You may need to lead recruitment, onboarding and workforce planning activities to ensure we can deliver on our outcomes and investor commitments. Foster modern approaches to Agricultural Extension The team is focused on delivering modern agricultural extension and technical advice that promotes leading practices. You’ll work with them to target industry support to increase market access, promote compliance with industry standards and encourage engagement and partnerships with private sector specialists, researchers and industry groups. Develop and test new approaches to engagement You will play a key role in guiding innovative thinking within the team to consider a spectrum of service offerings designed specifically with the individual characteristics and journeys of our customers and client types in mind. Underpin effective project management You will be responsible for working with your project managers to deliver a range of projects across different funding streams. This will include monthly financial forecasting, milestone reporting and adaptive management. You will foster the design of new service delivery plans/projects in the 2026/2027 year. This will include allocation of financial resources, design of project teams, collaboration with other functional teams, setting of delivery metrics and milestones and adoption of learnings from previous years. This will require sound project delivery understanding and leadership experience. As part of the design of the Central Tablelands Annual Business Plan you will need to oversee the development of Agricultural Annual Focus Areas. These focuses guide the development of projects and services in a way that are informed by environmental contexts, stakeholder needs and alignment to the Strategic Plan. This will require strategic thinking and collaboration with the leadership team and Board. Link with statewide Agriculture Teams You will act as the Central Tablelands representative to the Agricultural Services State‑wide Advisory Group contributing the design of strategic planning and sharing of innovation across regions. Be an active member of the Central Tablelands Leadership Team The direction and culture of the region is in the hands of the Leadership Team, a team that you will be an important member of. This role comes with responsibilities for Work Health & Safety outcomes, organisational effectiveness and strategic planning. To be successful you will need to be proactive in how you engage and participate in Leadership team meetings supporting and fostering effective cross‑team collaboration that leads to better Agricultural Biosecurity, Pest Management and Natural Resource outcomes.
