Initial 24‑mth contract with possible extension paying up to $1100/day Brisbane Airport or Melbourne Airport Location with flexibility to WFH 2 days per week Towers Traffic Replacement Program to replace the systems in Air Traffic Control Towers Our client, a national organisation within the aviation sector, is currently seeking a Transition and Sustainment Project Manager for the Towers Traffic Replacement Program (TTRP) which is replacing the systems in Air Traffic Control Towers. MUST be an Australian Citizen in order to apply. The Transition and Sustainment Project Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring the organisation is ready to accept the new Integrated Air Traffic Control Suite (IATS) into service across Australia. This role is responsible for planning and implementing the support framework required for the successful deployment and ongoing sustainment of IATS. It will also oversee the uplift of technical capability. The Transition and Sustainment Project Manager will collaborate closely with Procurement and vendor partners to develop and manage the IATS support agreement, ensuring alignment with operational and technical requirements. They will lead initiatives to ensure the organisation is fully prepared to receive and operate IATS as a live system and ensure engineers and technicians are trained and are ready to support the system in accordance with the support agreement. This role will manage the end‑to‑end delivery of the technical training platform, ensuring it meets the needs of technical training stakeholders in development of engineering and maintenance personnel. This role will also oversee technical change readiness for each rollout of IATS across multiple capital cities (Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney, Perth), ensuring all aspects of technical readiness; people, logistics, procedures, documents and asset acceptance. Responsible to the TTRP Program Manager you will: Contribute to the development of Transition and Sustainment Strategy development and implementation to ensure long‑term sustainability. Lead, direct or otherwise provide guidance to procurement and legal teams to enable the establishment of appropriate support contracts with suppliers, other service providers in close collaboration with internal program, external (to the program) and other stakeholders. Lead and drive stakeholder engagement through active liaison with a wide range of program managers, engineers and other discipline specialists to meet technical change requirements and address potential risks to sustainment plans with mitigation plans as needed. Direct the completion of the Technical Change Lifecycle Form, ensuring timely completion of applicable works. Provide TTRP Program support to the Technical Training delivery, from Needs Assessment through to training and technical certification of staff. Identify potential risks associated with program sustainment and develop proactive mitigation plans to address these risks. Support the implementation of quality control processes to maintain the highest level of program performance and functionality during sustainment. Prepare regular and ad hoc reports and documentation on the status of transition and sustainment efforts. Contribute to the continuous review and refine sustainment strategies and practices, seeking opportunities to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Ensure that all sustainment activities adhere to relevant legal and regulatory requirements. Skills and competencies include: Demonstrated experience in complex project management delivery essential Project management qualifications, with supporting experience desirable Demonstrated leadership capabilities, ability to contribute to strategies and concepts, form and maintain collaborative working relationships with stakeholders at various levels Strong knowledge of sustainment principles, risk management, and contract management. Strong leadership and team management skills, with a demonstrated ability to lead and motivate cross‑functional teams. Demonstrated sound judgement and business acumen, with a focus on results in a service delivery environment Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain strategic relationships to facilitate partnerships and cooperation Practical knowledge of the application of Integrated Logistics Support Concepts and Plans. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to make data‑driven decisions. Budget management experience, including the ability to allocate resources effectively.
