Join Human Habitats as a Bushfire Planning Consultant Human Habitats is seeking an experienced Bushfire Planning Consultant to provide bushfire planning advice and assessments to support planning permit applications in areas affected by the bushfire management overlay. About us Human Habitats delivers specialist town planning services across regional and alpine Victoria and New South Wales. We provide sharp insights and clear advice to clients to ensure commercial outcomes are achieved. Key Responsibilities Provide expert bushfire planning advice. Prepare bushfire assessments in line with BMO and other Planning Scheme requirements. Conduct bushfire behaviour and vegetation assessments and prepare bushfire emergency plans. Collaborate within a multi‑disciplinary team and engage with our diverse clients, the CFA and Councils. Skills and Experience Manage multiple projects concurrently and collaborate in a team environment. Work independently, manage time effectively and meet deadlines. Experience working in remote, rural and bushfire‑prone environments preferred. Formal qualifications in town planning, environmental science, natural hazards, bushfire assessment, surveying or related fields advantageous but not essential if strong practical experience. Understanding of bushfire behaviour and assessment processes or prior experience supporting bushfire consultants highly desirable. BPAD Accreditation (Level 2 or 3 desirable). Employment Conditions Casual, part time or full‑time role. Remuneration commensurate with skills and experience, negotiated at offer stage.
