Overview We deliver industry-leading Test & Tag solutions for a large, diverse client base in the Northern Territory and Northern Western Australia by providing high-volume testing, recording, and inspecting our client’s electrical appliance assets. We offer a holistic, managed service, to help reduce electrical risk and ensure your compliance with OH&S workplace obligations. About the Position Ideally, this position would suit a mature professional person seeking casual work and very flexible working environment. The position is with periods of low and high-volume work in various locations around the NT. However, working on mining, construction sites, and harsh weather conditions may be required and include fly-in, drive-in / out. Most work is conducted in pairs and may include working autonomously at times. We provide full induction and training for the role and if suitable, to progress to a full technician. Business branded uniform and some PPE is supplied as required. Role and Duties Perform appliance testing and tagging to AS/NZS 3760. Setting up testing equipment. Data entry and recording of items inspected. Applying tags to the electrical appliances and cord assembly leads. Undertake, maintain client site inductions and clearance to work on sites. Identify, contribute and provide constructive suggestions and recommendations that improve our service, systems, procedures, and testing techniques. Other duties as required. The Person We look for motivated people with a solid work ethic interested in working and learning more about the electrical industry. You must have a strong ability in recalling, retrieving and communicating information clearly and accurately. In addition, you’ll need a strong commitment to safety behaviours and environment. Excellent relationship and communication skills are essential as you may liaise with our clients directly. If you have sound judgement and flexibility in the role, which at times can be challenging, then you will be set for success. You should have a willingness to work away for short periods if required. Attributes and Requirements Displays Technical Proficiency – Technical ability & aptitude with phone and tablet-based applications, knowledge of a wide range of workplace electrical appliances, tools and their use. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Training and Certifications required for this role National construction induction certificate (White Card) NT Worksafe, Working with Children (Orche Card) Current unrestricted full drivers licence Current National Police Check Desirable but not required Certification in Test and Tag using a Portable Appliance Tester (PAT). Experience in mining environment A Restricted Electrical Licence is advantageous Accreditation with Fire Protection Association of Australia FPAS and Servicing portable fire equipment and emergency/exit lights to Australian Standards AS 1851 and AS/NZS 2293.2 Knowledge of industry, Portable Appliance Testers and associated software Understanding of WHS policy and knowledge and will be beneficial Understanding of AS/NZS requirements.
