As a Senior Product Security Manager, you will play a key in driving and managing the security of Atlassian's products within Australia. Reporting to the Regional Head of Product Security, you will lead a team of technical professionals, collaborate across global teams, and work closely with cross‑functional stakeholders. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in product security, leadership, and a proven track record of managing security teams. Responsibilities Manage a team of security engineers who deliver security projects, conduct source code auditing, write automation, review designs, and identify ways to empower engineering teams to build secure products by default. Collaborate with colleagues to understand our products and enhance our existing security infrastructure. Work with the engineering teams that build many of our own tools; an understanding of how to develop software is valuable. Most of the code we work with is in Java, Python, or Go. Your background 3+ years working in security or a related role 2+ years managing a team Experience with application security, especially web application security Experience in cloud security architecture and infrastructure Experience in data protection and privacy Experience coding in Java, Python, or Go, and at least one scripting language Experience reasoning about security decisions Experience leading projects from start to finish and mentoring other security practitioners Experience collaborating with engineers who know way more than you about their code Nice to have Published contributions to the security community Presentation experience at industry events Experience working with compliance, privacy, IT, networking, or related functions Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field. Proven experience in a leadership role within product security, with 2+ years of experience. Deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, threat landscape, and best practices. Strong knowledge of secure coding practices, encryption, and authentication methods. Experience with compliance standards such as ISO , SOC 2, FedRAMP, or similar. Experience managing a team of technical professionals and collaborating across a global team. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
