Position Overview Position Title: Director of Learning and Curriculum (Secondary) Employment Basis: Permanent Anticipated Start Date: Negotiable Pay Range: Commensurate with experience and qualifications The Role As a key member of the College Senior Leadership Team, reporting to the Deputy Principal – Head of Secondary School, the Director of Learning and Curriculum provides both strategic and operational leadership for teaching, learning, and assessment across Years 7–12. This pivotal role balances educational vision with disciplined implementation, ensuring curriculum, pedagogy, and assessment are coherent, evidence‑informed, and aligned with the College's mission. The successful candidate will champion pedagogical excellence, foster professional growth, and ensure alignment between curriculum design and student outcomes. Key Responsibilities Lead the renewal and implementation of the College’s Pedagogical Model and Teaching & Learning Framework. Drive curriculum innovation and assessment quality across Years 7–12. Promote evidence‑based teaching practices and digital learning strategies. Oversee data‑informed improvement processes to enhance student outcomes. Develop leadership capacity in Heads of Department through coaching and mentoring. Contribute to strategic planning and represent Learning & Curriculum on the Secondary Executive Team. Maintain a teaching load (0.1–0.2 FTE), ensuring ongoing engagement with classroom practice and student learning. Selection Criteria Commitment to the Christian ethos and College values. Demonstrated leadership in curriculum and pedagogical development, including innovation and assessment practices. Proven ability to lead and influence staff in achieving improved student outcomes. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to foster collaboration and professional trust. High‑level analytical and organisational skills, with proactive and solutions‑focused mindset. Ability to interpret and use data to inform teaching and learning improvements. Experience in leading professional learning initiatives and building instructional leadership capacity. Commitment to fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and evidence‑based practice. All teachers are expected to have a current registration with Queensland College of Teachers (QCT).
