Workshop Mechanic - BRAND NEW STORE Red Hill Be part of something new and exciting in the heart of the Mornington Peninsula’s mountain bike scene We’re opening a brand new bicycle retail & service centre at the base of the Red Hill MTB trails in Dromana — and we’re looking for an experienced Workshop Mechanic to join us from the ground up. About the role This is your chance to help shape a new store from day one. You’ll take charge of all things mechanical — from customer repairs to new bike builds, workshop operations and hire fleet maintenance. You’ll be the go-to person for technical advice, helping ensure every bike that leaves the store is trail‑ready and performing at its best. Key Responsibilities Directly liaise with customers and handle all workshop related enquiries professionally and with a positive attitude. Complete repairs, servicing, and bike builds with high quality and efficiency. Maintain the hire fleet to high safety and performance standards. Document service records, manage parts inventory, and liaise with suppliers. Assist in workshop scheduling and prioritise urgent repairs during peak periods. Provide mechanical expertise and support to sales staff when required. Advise customers on mechanical concerns and upsell appropriate parts or services. Ensure the workshop area is clean, safe, and well‑organised. Train other staff in basic maintenance tasks where necessary. About you We’re looking for someone who’s just as passionate about bikes as the riders we serve — someone who gets a buzz from helping people get out on the trails. You’ll bring: 3+ years’ experience as a qualified bicycle mechanic or workshop tech. Strong knowledge of MTB and e‑MTB systems (suspension, drivetrains, tubeless setup). Familiarity with premium brands like Specialized , Trek , and Santa Cruz . Excellent communication and time‑management skills. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster and develop customer, community and trail user group relationships. Full working rights in Australia.
