Australia & New Zealand, Australia, Sydney The Director, Catalogue is responsible for maximising the value, visibility, and long-term performance of the label’s catalogue. This role oversees strategy, marketing, and commercial exploitation of catalogue and legacy releases, ensuring they remain culturally relevant and commercially successful across streaming, physical formats, sync, and local and international markets. Reporting to the VP of Marketing and working closely with digital, marketing, A&R, legal, and international teams, the Director, Catalogue curates and revitalizes repertoire through data-driven insights, compelling storytelling, reissues, and anniversary campaigns. The position requires strong strategic thinking, deep knowledge of catalogue, and the ability to balance creative, commercial, and archival priorities. What you’ll do: Lead & inspire a team on the development & execution of innovative & impactful Artist campaigns to drive catalogue revenue and fan engagement. Champion and influence the development of impactful marketing campaigns centered around the catalogue of Sony Music’s on and off-roster artists. This includes partnering closely with local frontline marketing teams and international labels as well as artists and their representatives. Proactively identify high-potential catalogue acquisition opportunities Bring an innovative, positive, entrepreneurial and creative passion to the role with an unyielding drive to experiment, learn, analyze, adapt, collaborate and succeed. Partner & collaborate closely with the sales-led account relationships to develop revenue opportunities and ensure our marketing strategies are relevant and applicable to each account. Inspire and further cultivate a digital skill set & mindset within the team, which is reflected in all marketing activations, digital media & partnerships as well as paid media Build an appropriate team structure and robust strategy centered around supporting our younger catalogue (6-42mths) Integrate data & analytics into the culture of the team to ensure KPIs are consistently set & measured and to ensure data is integrated into the decision-making process. In collaboration with the Frontline Label, focus on D2C and First Party Data strategies to support international and local artists. Drive accountability for managing marketing spends and project budgets Catalogue P&L responsibilities across the department Communicate with international markets to customise and ensure our marketing campaigns are relevant to a global fan‑base and customized for local country nuances.
