About Our Client Since its inception our client has experienced sustained growth and development, which has enabled them to fast become a key player in Australia's food production industry. Specialising in cured meats and other smallgoods our client has developed a reputation for delivering high-quality products to retailers and wholesalers nationwide. Job Description Although the responsibilities of the role are initially transactional, there is an expectation that the successful individual will contribute to the continuous improvement of the overall procurement function including deeper strategic and contract work. Undertake detailed market analysis, profiling all the relevant categories within the assigned portfolio, this will include the creation of strategic reports outlining procurement and supplier performance. Identify new suppliers or opportunities with existing suppliers to engage with initial negotiations to improve commercial standing, relationship and other measurables. Identify when necessary and then support the creation and implementation of an appropriate supplier relationship management plan with applicable vendors. Satisfy the end to end purchasing requirements of the three sites through the current purchasing process. The Successful Applicant The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience. Previous experience managing a transactional procurement function ideally with additional exposure to framework/supplier contracts and tender proposals. Exposure within the FMCG industry from a procurement perspective. Advanced Microsoft Excel ability with the capability to manipulate and interpret large data sets. The role would suit an individual who is looking to leverage an existing skill set within the management of transactional procurement but is looking to support/be involved within a continuous improvement project focused on improving the overall maturity of our client's procurement function.
