Overview HammondCare pastoral care volunteers have an opportunity to support the spiritual and emotional needs of the elderly clients living in their home. As a pastoral care volunteer you’ll be actively involved with a local Christian church. This role involves speaking the language of comfort and care, sharing faith and friendship in Hindi. Responsibilities Support people to meet their spiritual needs Nurture spiritual development Qualifications & Skills High level of interpersonal skills, including strong empathy and listening skills. Pastoral Care training for example Chaplaincy, Clinical Pastoral Education, or completion of HammondCare pastoral care training – Spiritual Care Series, in preparation to becoming a pastoral care volunteer. Your Impact Volunteering alongside Pastoral Care can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit and for yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help people feel less isolated. Category Seniors & Aged Care Commitment Regular – more than 6 months Type of Work Companionship & Social Support, Seniors & Aged Care Time Required We’ll discuss a suitable time during the week for a one‑hour visit between 9am and 4pm, Monday to Sunday.
