What are we looking for? This is a hands‑on technical role within our Shared Services IT team, responsible for designing and maintaining automation frameworks and ensuring our applications are thoroughly tested before they reach our people. You will work closely with our engineering, delivery and architecture teams to embed automation into the development lifecycle, champion shift‑left quality practices and support continuous delivery. The role goes beyond writing automated tests and plays a key part in shaping modern QA practices, recommending tooling, improving process efficiency and helping uplift capability across the team. Develop test strategies and determine the most effective testing methods across functional, integration, API, performance and regression contexts Design, build and maintain automation frameworks that support repeatable, scalable and reliable testing Write and execute automated tests and integrate them into CI and CD pipelines Perform manual exploratory UI testing of new features Collaborate with developers and delivery teams to identify defects, resolve issues and support quality throughout the lifecycle Manage test data, testing environments and support use of mocks, stubs and API data generation Recommend and implement best practice testing tools, techniques and quality processes Produce quality reporting, automation metrics and documentation to support What will you bring? You will have a passion for social justice and generating positive outcomes for clients. The following experience and skills will ensure your success in this position: Experience in functional and non‑functional testing along with strong technical skills in building automation frameworks from the ground up. Confidence writing automated tests, working with version control, applying BDD or TDD practices and integrating tests within CI and CD environments. Understanding of modern QA concepts such as shift‑left testing, the test pyramid and risk‑based automation planning, and comfort working with APIs, SQL or NoSQL databases, mocks and cloud‑based testing platforms. Clear communication, collaboration with technical and non‑technical stakeholders and ownership of producing high‑quality, maintainable automation. Experience with tools such as Playwright, Selenium, Cucumber, SpecFlow or similar, and familiarity with performance, API or security testing would also be valuable. What next?
