The RoleThe Infrastructure Lead, reporting to the Technology Manager, oversees the design, implementation, and maintenance of infrastructure in alignment with organisational objectives. This pivotal role involves leading a team, ensuring the reliability and performance of critical systems, and spearheading continuous improvement initiatives to optimise infrastructure efficiency and meet Business objectives.
Key ResponsibilitiesEnsure the IT infrastructure team adheres to best practices and industry standards.Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers, networks, and storage systems.Manage cloud infrastructure services and support a hybrid environment.Ensure high availability and disaster recovery plans are in place and tested regularlyImplement and monitor security protocols and policies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.Monitor infrastructure performance, identifying and resolving issues proactively.Prepare regular reports on infrastructure performance and improvement initiatives.Develop and maintain after-hours support roster.Audit asset usage and complianceProvide support for strategic decisions and ensure effective cyber security protectionLiaise with internal and external stakeholdersThe ExpertiseBachelor's degree in a relevant field or a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in infrastructure management, including hands-on experience with network, server, and storage systemsExperience in ITIL v3 or v 4 preferred certified foundations or abovePrevious experience in a leadership or supervisory positionExperience in both internal and external stakeholder managementIn-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, storage, and virtualizationUnderstanding of infrastructure design principles and best practicesProficiency in cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure.Familiarity with systems processes, technical infrastructure, and project managementKnowledge of system monitoring, performance tuning, and capacity planningUnderstanding of backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity planningUnderstanding of network security, firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systemsAbility to travel to other Southern Ports locations (Albany, Bunbury, Esperance, and Perth)Strong communication, customer service, relationship management and problem-solving skillsTo see the PD for this role, please copy and paste the below link into your browser:
