In this role, you'll gain hands‑on experience supporting UQ's lawyers across a diverse range of legal matters, contributing to the delivery of high‑quality legal services within a complex and dynamic university environment. This is an excellent opportunity to build your legal skills, work alongside experienced professionals, and make a real impact from day one. Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Work under general supervision to provide high‑quality support to the legal team within tight timeframes. Undertake legal research across a broad range of practice areas and summarise findings for lawyers. Assist lawyers with a variety of matters, including drafting legal advice, reviewing documents, and liaising with internal clients and external stakeholders. Draft and revise a range of legal documents, such as research agreements, confidentiality agreements, student placement agreements, licences, and commercial contracts. Prepare and collate materials including chronologies, briefs to counsel, and updates to legal templates and client resources. Demonstrated legal study and/or experience working in a legal practice. Demonstrated ability to undertake legal research and present findings in a well‑formed and logical manner. Thorough knowledge of legal databases and resources. Strong verbal and written communication skills Experience using the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook). Effective time management, organisational skills, and attention to detail.
