Boarding Supervisor

This is a permanent part-time (0.4FTE) position commencing January 2026. Salary: $37,547 ($30,765 salary + $6,782 loading). Students are supervised by qualified professional staff members who are dedicated to creating a wonderful boarding experience, helping to develop a healthy balance between study and recreation. Supervisors facilitate regular study sessions and tutoring; support boarders’ educational and sporting aspirations; and organise recreational, leisure and social activities. The Role The active nightshift position is to ensure the overnight safety of students at Albany Residential College. The successful applicant must remain awake and vigilant throughout each rostered nightshift, be aware of student movements and the college surroundings, and maintain a safe environment. The successful applicant will support and reinforce appropriate values and behaviours of students, and supervise students, fulfilling duty of care requirements in line with Department policy. They will respect and embrace diversity within the student population and provide opportunities that support academic, social, emotional, and physical development. The Boarding Supervisor will promptly report any concerns with student and staff well‑being, duty of care, occupational safety and health, and maintenance matters to senior staff. This role requires upholding the Public Sector Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct and working in accordance with Department requirements. Obtain or hold (and maintain) a current Working with Children Check. Work according to rostered hours which may include nights, weekends and public holidays. Obtain (prior to first rostered shift working with students) and maintain a current: First Aid Certificate – Provide CPR (HLTAID001) First Aid Certificate – Provide First Aid (HLTAID003) Within six months of commencement of employment obtain and maintain a current: LR Class Driver’s Licence and a Passenger Transport Driver (PTD) authorisation Aquatic Rescue for Group III Pool Award* Surf Rescue Certificate* Obtain a current Certificate IV in Community Services – Student Residential Care (CHC42015) within six months of commencement of employment. Demonstrated capacity to initiate, plan, document and safely lead a wide range of leisure activities for secondary students. Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills, written and oral communication skills, with the ability to write plans, pastoral notes and reports, and interact positively with students and parents, including those with diverse multicultural backgrounds. Demonstrated organisational skills and ability to work effectively both independently and as a member of a team. Demonstrated capacity to successfully meet and maintain the required eligibility and training requirements of this position.
