We're seeking an experienced Group Accountant to lead our finance function, own the general ledger, manage cashflow and treasury, and deliver timely, accurate insights to the leadership team. Ownership: End-to-end GL accountability, cashflow/treasury management, and board-level reporting. Leadership: Direct reports include a Bookkeeper and Assistant Accountant. Systems: Drive automation and optimisation across MYOB/Xero and management reporting. Key Responsibilities Develop, apply and enforce accounting policies and procedures. Lead month‑end close and reconciliations; produce monthly/quarterly management packs. Manage daily cashflow, receivables, payables, payroll, banking, EFTs and FX; open/close bank accounts as required. Prepare general and special‑purpose financial statements; automate management, board and covenant reporting. Build ad‑hoc financial reports, feasibility analyses and project reporting to support operations; apply forensic accounting where needed. Prepare annual budgets and rolling forecasts; coordinate inputs and administer planning models (Excel). Oversee statutory compliance (income tax, superannuation, WorkCover, BAS/IAS, payroll tax, land tax, stamp duty) and manage insurances with Legal. Supervise and mentor the (outsourced) finance team; partner with operational managers on day‑to‑day accounting issues. About You Degree‑qualified and CA or CPA member. 5+ years in a finance team supervisory role, with strong technical accounting standards. Proven experience in policy/process design and financial system implementation or re‑engineering. Advanced Word/Excel/PowerPoint skills; property/real‑estate experience highly regarded. Exceptional attention to detail, clear communication, project delivery and time management. Professional, confidential, and comfortable engaging across all levels; positive, down‑to‑earth and thrives in dynamic environments. Australian work authorisation is required at the time of application.
