Bloodwood Tree is looking for a full-time Driving Instructor based in South Hedland, WA. Reporting to the Driver Training Coordinator, you’ll deliver practical, culturally sensitive driver training to new learner drivers, helping them gain the skills and confidence to drive safely and independently. Responsibilities Instruct learner drivers for C & CA Class licences using dual-control vehicles Assist clients with pre-test practice and preparation Conduct driving sessions across Port & South Hedland, and occasional outreach Keep accurate client records and session notes Maintain vehicle cleanliness and roadworthiness Support outreach activities in towns like Tom Price and Newman Participate in monthly supervision and team activities The Right Person, Not Just the Right Skills A current C-Class Driver’s Licence (held for at least 5 years) National Police Clearance and Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain) The ability to pass a drug and alcohol screening Senior First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain) We’d also value: Certificate IV in Transport & Logistics (Driving Instruction), OR Completion of Department of Transport accredited instructor course Experience working with Aboriginal communities Confidence, patience, and a calm communication style A supportive, respectful and culturally aware approach to training If you’re not yet qualified, Bloodwood Tree is open to supporting the right person under supervision as they work toward their instructor certification. This is a role for someone who leads with patience, purpose and practical skill.
