More than 1 billion people globally live with obesity – a major leading indicator of many preventable chronic diseases such as diabetes and heart disease. Eucalyptus is the digital healthcare scaleup behind “Juniper”, one of the world’s largest weight‑management programmes combining GLP‑1 medication with a tailored nutrition and exercise programme, supported by our multidisciplinary care team of prescribers, health coaches, dieticians, nurses and pharmacists. Our published clinical research demonstrates that our combined approach to weight management and lifestyle change means that our patients are 4× as likely to lose significant weight through their course of treatment with Juniper than with the medication alone. In 2026 we will support 1 million patients globally. Eucalyptus launched into Japan in 2024, and has grown to ~1,000 patients with a plan to partner with medical institutions and governments to help 50,000 patients every month by the end of 2026. We have the track record to do so, having grown our patient base in the UK from just 2,000 patients to nearly 70,000 over the past 18 months. We have raised over $200 M US in funding, growing triple digits every year for the past 3 years while building a financially sustainable business that will support patients for decades to come. These signals are a result of the trust our doctors, and patients, place in the Juniper program to help them drive lifelong change and overcome obesity. Why Japan? Obesity is a problem (disease) hiding in plain sight in Japan. The global narrative around Japan being one of the world’s slimmest nations is often misleading with the World Health Organisation recognising obesity in Asian patients at a BMI of 25, rather than 30 (the standard used for Caucasians). The reason for this is that Asian patients are more likely to develop chronic diseases such as diabetes and cardiovascular disease at lower BMI levels. 20% of Japanese patients every year are informed of their obesity BMI indication in annual health checks, but very few are able to complete a sustainable treatment plan. Beauty clinics in Japan have put these medications into the hands of patients who are already within a healthy weight range, and often underweight. Eucalyptus is here to ensure that the patients who genuinely need these medications are aware, able to afford, and access these medications conveniently, after a lifetime of shame and judgement from society. Nobody should have to feel ashamed, or impaired by living with obesity. We are all living for longer, but not necessarily better. If we successfully achieve our mission, we have a once in a generation opportunity to fundamentally improve how much people are able to enjoy the last 30‑40 years of their life. About The Role (What You’ll Be Doing) We are seeking an experienced Marketing Leader to take ownership of scaling one of Eucalyptus’ fastest‑growing brands in a unique and challenging healthcare market, with 2‑5 direct reports, a budget in the 10s of millions with overarching goal to support 50,000 patients (100× more than today) by the end of 2026. This role spans the entire marketing funnel from capital allocation, performance marketing, creative operations, brand marketing and partnerships, requiring strategic thinking and the appetite to get on the tools to drive execution and impact. If you are looking for a cushy leadership role making slide decks, reports and overseeing others execute, this role is not for you. You are the marketing backbone of our Japan business. You are a versatile, strategic operator who creates structure, accountability and focus across channels in a fast moving, ambiguous environment. You design, build and scale systems to support high‑impact decisions and are motivated to make a real impact through the future of digital healthcare in Japan. This role reports directly to Justin Teo, General Manager, Japan (based in Tokyo, JP) and will work closely with: Louie Lui, Growth Lead Japan Jordan McTeare, Global Head of Performance Tim Doyle, CEO & Founder at Eucalyptus Function Leaders across the Japan team in Growth, Product and Operations Capabilities You’ll Be Responsible For Lead and manage the marketing function, amplify your direct report’s effectiveness through cycle planning (every 4 months), OKR/goal setting, hiring and leadership development Design and execute on an innovative and daring growth strategy that spans across performance marketing (paid social, creative), conversion rate optimisation, lifecycle marketing (email, LINE, etc), and brand marketing (PR, TV, OOH, organic) Ownership for reporting to Senior Leadership team on key metrics, challenges and opportunities to drive the function forward Allocate 8‑figure marketing budget (USD) across all functions to maximise conversions at the lowest cost Collaborate and influence our Product and Operations teams to deliver seamless, high‑quality patient experiences across the entire onboarding funnel Bring your own network of marketing experts to help Eucalyptus catalyse patient growth and brand awareness drastically within a short period of time Expectations For Your Role Across These Capabilities You will be responsible for ensuring we are delivering seamlessly against all agreed SLAs and metrics across all of the capabilities you are responsible for You will drive focus, accountability and motivation across the team through rituals, reporting & stakeholder updates You will be the final decision maker for hiring and performance decisions within the above capabilities, and are expected to raise the bar as the function develops You will need to be an effective leader for your direct reports, as well as a coach for the rest of the leadership team, supporting your peers in their development and lifting their sails in the process You will set the ambition for improvement through process optimisation, and increasing the deployment of AI‑enabled service delivery to improve quality and timeliness while reducing cost of our marketing capabilities About You (Who We’re Looking For) You have at least 10+ years of experience in fast growing marketing agencies and/or direct to consumer/e‑commerce companies. This is by no means prescriptive, but we operate at the intensity of these types of organisations and are uncompromising on standards.
