We have an exciting opportunity at nbn as Security Operations Specialist to the Senior Manager Protective Security. A bit about your role The Security Operations Specialist plays a vital role in delivering and maintaining physical and personnel security services across a diverse organisational and geographic landscape. This position is responsible for conducting site reviews, risk assessments, audits, incident management and managing security contracts and awareness initiatives. With practical expertise in physical security systems, the specialist ensures the coordination and performance of guarding services at nbn sites, regularly visiting locations to monitor compliance and support continuous improvement. The role requires a collaborative, adaptable and proactive professional who communicates effectively, builds strong stakeholder relationships and upholds nbn's values while navigating both structured and evolving operational environments. A bit about you The ideal candidate holds a Certificate IV in Security Risk Management (or equivalent) and brings practical experience in guarding and protective security with a strong understanding of government security design principles, PSPF standards, and SCEC‑endorsed products. They are detail‑oriented, organised and capable of working independently in fast‑paced environments, including regular regional and interstate travel. With a customer‑focused mindset and strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills they are confident using IT‑based physical security systems such as Honeywell Traka Cliq and Genetec. Their background includes hands‑on involvement in physical security operations, incident reporting, site reviews, and technical troubleshooting.
